Job Description:
**MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. in Canada is looking for a qualified part-time (0.5 FTE) Associate Program Director /Internship Coordinator to join its outstanding team of faculty and staff in the School of Health and Social Sciences, Edmonton Campus. The ideal candidates are qualified counselling professionals with knowledge and experience in post-secondary education and leadership, especially community engagement and internship placements. Ideal candidates are registered psychologists in good standing with the College of Alberta Psychologists, or those registered within other provincial bodies, with clinical experience and a doctoral degree (preferred). Ideal candidates will have at least three years post-registration experience, five years preferred.

Aside from counseling, SHSS touts highly ranked and in-demand certificates, undergraduate and graduate health and human services programs, criminal justice, and general studies.
Programs in this School serve students who want to better society and help people. Each program sets students up for success by teaching them the skills and knowledge necessary to advance their careers in the pathway they select.
Job Summary:
The Associate Program Director/Internship Coordinator is responsible for internship coordination of the Master of Counselling program Edmonton Campus. Reporting to the Academic Program Director, The Associate Program Director/Internship Coordinator helps ensure the quality and integrity of the program. Coordinates internship programs, provides proactive student support, develops teaching faculty, participates in curriculum and course development, teaches core courses, and actively engages in academic governance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Coordinates internship processes, including practicum courses and internship placements. Provides liaison between site supervisors, students, and the university.
Provides proactive student support toward successful internship completion. Addresses student concerns regarding internship placements and performance issues.
Teaches two courses per year within compensation.
Fosters and promotes teaching excellence. Provides orientation, training, mentoring, coaching, and evaluation for practitioner faculty.
Proactively supports students to become responsible, ethical, self-directed professionals.
Engages in the scholarship of teaching and learning, as well as applied or original research.
Participates in developing a curriculum that aligns with the CityU Academic Model and focuses on the application and current practice.
Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:

A registered psychologist, mental health professional with clinical experience, or clinical counsellor with a doctorate (preferred) in counselling or psychology or with a Masters degree in psychology, counselling, or clinical social work.
Minimum of 3 years post-registration clinical experience. Five years preferred.
Registration with a regulatory body consistent with the field of practice.
Experience with supervision and internship placements. Experience with community engagement and relationship building.
Experience in higher education management and adult education an asset.
Ability to address student academic-related issues and concerns in support of retention and student success.
Culturally competent to serve a diverse study and faculty body
Demonstrated experience leading and managing in a creative, fast-paced in-person and virtual environment.
Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills. Must relate to and communicate with diverse students, faculty, staff, and external communities.
Ability to present a professional image for academic school and CityU.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and learning management systems in support of quality teaching and learning.
Proficiency in using technology to support virtual teaching and internship duties.
