Obtains complete medical history and physical data on patients.Interprets and integrates data to determine appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as needed.Performs a complete physical exam and records findings. Collaborates with physicians in managing acute and long-term medical needs of patients.Orders appropriate laboratory and diagnostic procedures.Synthesizes data to determine preliminary diagnosis and therapeutic plan utilizing principles of prevention. Provides monitoring and continuity of care between physician visits.Orders and/or administers medications and injections in compliance with state law and clinic guidelines. Instructs patient and family regarding medications and treatment instructions. Provides patient education.Interviews and advises patients regarding health and illness prevention. Recommends community resources to meet patient and family needs.Maintains and reviews patients records in Epic, and keeps inbasket current. Correct assignment of appropriate CPT & ICD-9 at time of service. Ensure capture of all charges in Epic.Has a basic understanding of HIPAA regulations.Qualifications:Education: Successful completion of an approved nurse practitioner program. Licensure: Licensed as Registered Nurse in state of Arkansas. Licensed as Advance Practice Nurse in state of Arkansas.Other: Ability to read and communicate effectively in English Basic computer knowledgePreferred Experience: Highly desirable: 3 years professional nursing experience in clinic setting and 2 years experience as an APN. Experience in Neurosurgery is highly preferred.
