Position Summary
The Michigan State University College of Nursing is seeking applications for a PART-TIME faculty member. This position will instruct and facilitate on- and off-site educational activities, including online learning. Additionally, this position will work with professional development unit to assess, plan, implement and evaluate

The individual in this role works collaboratively with the CON faculty, staff, students, agency & campus partners and with our Henry Ford Health System partners, given the Henry Ford MSU collaborative agreement (Health Science Center). It is a part-time, fixed term faculty position divided between teaching and other educational activities with working hours between 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Teach as assigned in area of expertise with an understanding of how diverse populations are impacted by various topics and area of expertise
Facilitate on-site classroom activities and virtual activities
Demonstrate a commitment to long term, sustained action that increases diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts across the CON
Intentionally creates an environment that encourages inclusive learning, work, and clinical service environments that enable everyone to reach their full potential
Identify, evaluate and report on educational learning outcomes and measure change in knowledge, skill, inclusivity, and/or practice
Identify and assess professional knowledge, inclusive awareness, skill and/or practice gaps that can be addressed through evidence-based educational activities following ANCC criteria
Instruct varying student populations in both classroom and via distant learning such as zoom classes and meetings

Required Degree
Doctorate -Nursing
Minimum Requirements
Master’s Degree in Nursing is required for the rank of Instructor
Doctorate is required for the ranks of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor
Unrestricted RN license without probationary status (or eligible)
Minimum of 2 years experience in a direct nursing education role
Must demonstrate excellent communication and organizational skills
Must be able to work independently and collaboratively within a team-oriented hybrid work environment
Must be familiar with the CON DEI mission and values and implement them in this role
Desired Qualifications
Professional development experience, specifically with nursing profession
NPD Specialist (graduate degree and current NPD certification)
Experience with accreditation standards and processes
DNP or PhD in Nursing
