Job Summary:

- Manages the Central Scheduling staff, including annual evaluations

- Interviews incoming doctor’s office/patient calls for information needed to schedule exams.

- Provides patient/doctor’s offices with the proper preparations and possible insurance preauthorization information.

- Develops and maintains department’s policies/procedures.

- Handles doctor, patient and/or related department complaints.

- Develops and reviews the department’s budget.

- Performs the following duties and any duties as set forth by the CFO/Revenue Cycle Director.

Professional Requirements:

- Working knowledge of benefits and eligibility for Medicare, Medicaid, HMO and private insurance coverage of outpatient procedures.

- Clinical knowledge of schedules exams including required preparation, lab work and possible medication interaction.

Regulatory Requirements:

- High School Diploma required.

- Associates Degree preferred.

- One year of Supervisory/Management experience required.

- Critical Access Hospital experience preferred.
