The Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT), part of the State University of New York and an internationally renowned college of art, design, business and technology with a strong emphasis on liberal arts, invites applications for a Temporary Full Time Ambulatory Care Registered Nurse in Health Services.

Job Description:

Reports to the Director of Health Services, demonstrate clinical judgment and skills in the full range of functions of a registered professional nurse. Identifies and provides nursing diagnoses and treatment for actual or potential health problems through utilization of the nursing process.

Provides nursing care for ambulatory clients.

Triage/assess patients including crisis intervention, acute medical/surgical complaints and women's health and refers patients appropriately.

Implements Health Service projects, guidelines and responsibilities as outlined by the Director of Health Services.

Participates in patient counseling and outreach programs.

Coordinates care for patients with medical, surgical, women's health and emotional problems.

Administers appropriate medications and treatments as prescribed by Health Services providers.

Engages in periodic self-evaluation, participates in peer review and quality assurance.

Provides health education.

Responsible for lab documentation.

Responsible for medical and pharmaceutical supplies.

Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred and Current New York State Registered Nurse license required

Minimum 3 years recent medical/surgical experience required (including ambulatory care, emergency room triage, or occupational nursing) required.

Knowledge of basic life support CPR/AED certification and defibrillation required.

Additional Information:

Work Schedule subject to change based on department needs.

This position will end on or around June 30, 2022.

Salary range $80,000- $95,000 depending on qualifications and experience.
