Description
Risk Adjustment Coders are responsible for reviewing medical records, completing multiple audits, and special projects. Associates in this role work collaboratively with other departments.
Responsibilities
The Risk Adjustment Coder ensures coding is accurate and properly supported by clinical documentation within the health record.
Follows state and federal regulations as well as internal policies and guidelines while analyzing coding information and medical records.
May participate in provider education programs on coding compliance.
Works within broad guidelines with little oversight.
Required Qualifications
AAPC or AHIMA certification required (CPC-A, CPC, CCS, CCA)
ICD-10 certified
Must maintain annual continuing education requirements and remain in good standing with the certification governing body
Must be willing to work 40 hours a week and some overtime
Work At Home Requirements
Must have a separate room with a locked door that can be used as a home office to ensure you and your members have absolute and continuous privacy while you work.
Must have the ability to provide a high-speed DSL or cable modem for a home office (Satellite and Wireless Internet service is NOT allowed for this role). A minimum standard speed for optimal performance of 10x1 (10mbs download x 1mbs upload) is required.
