Qualifications

Minimum
Education: High School Diploma/GED

Minimum years in field
previous to employment: Five (5) years of experience

 

Minimum Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesMust be proficient in Windows based computer applications, and will learn to use
applicable applications for Coverage office

 

Position
Responsibilities 1. Directly Responsible for
supervising the Coverage office staff to ensure quality, efficient and timely
service in accordance with departmental and hospital policies; Supervises day to
day operations of Coverage office   2. Assists with departmental and
hospital planning of quality improvement as related to staffing and
scheduling   3. Responsible for the education of
staff to ensure they have a working knowledge of staffing guidelines, practices
and policies   4. Uses critical thinking to ensure
adequate and safe staffing levels in collaboration with nursing management and
other departments; intervenes appropriately on service staffing based on
individual patient care unit needs and level of care criteria in collaboration
with nursing   5. Assists department manager with
performance evaluations and job performance issues of Time and Coverage
clerks   6. Provides Staffing data and other
information as needed to nursing management for payroll, budget and attendance
issues   7. Monitors staff overtime and
communicates with nurse managers to uphold policies, support patient/employee
safety and support the institutions financial viability   8. Collects data to forecast future
staffing needs to project staffing shortages and overages and Works proactively
to cover shortages. Serves as a liaison to management regarding staffing and
requests assistance from management team if unable to obtain adequate
staffing

effective communication channels to provide information to all Coverage office
