The PSC is responsible for all facets of obtaining and
maintaining access for KOH employees and credentialed practitioners, including
physicians, physician practice staff, residents, and fellows. This is accomplished by working closely with
both the Human Resources representative in requesting Workday accounts and with
the CHI information technology team in requesting TAGS & OAAA accounts.
The PSC is responsible for ensuring requestors qualify for
access by obtaining and verifying sanction, exclusion, license and NPI data.
The PSC maintains the STAR and Meditech databases and
ensures data validity between the STAR, Meditech and Morrisey (MSOW) systems.
The PSC will perform other duties as assigned.
Job Summary and Essential Functions:
The PSC must possess the ability to work with Hospital
Administration and the Medical Staff to provide the resources needed for the
Medical and Allied Health Staff and their offices to fulfill their duties and
obligations as defined by national and regulatory agencies and the Medical
Staff Bylaws & Rules and Regulations as delegated by the Hospital’s Board
of Trustees.

The PSC must work through a variety of
department leaders and staff and multiple programs to complete requests for access
for all JHSMH Medical Staff, Allied Health Staff, Residents, Fellows and their
associated office staff.
2.
The PSC must ensure that all access granted and
maintained meets policy, regulation and compliance requirements.
3.
The PSC must monitor sanction and exclusion
lists to identify confirmed excluded practitioners and remove access as
appropriate.
4.
The PSC must monitor sanction and exclusion
lists for possible or unresolved matches and provide additional information as
needed to assist in confirming excluded practitioners, as appropriate.
5.
The PSC must monitor a variety of databases on
an ongoing basis to ensure the data is current and correct.
6.
The PSC must be familiar with the Medical Staff
Bylaws and Rules and Regulations to ensure appropriate access.
7.
The PSC must be familiar with and work
collaboratively with academic staff and students, residents, and fellows for
accurate and timely access.

Job Requirements/Qualifications:
·
High school diploma; Associates or Bachelor’s
Degree preferred
·
At least one year experience in a health care
field
·
Excellent computer skills required, including experience
with word processing, spreadsheet and internet usage
·
Knowledge of basic medical staff structure and
credentialing required
·
Must exhibit a high degree of confidentiality
·
Ability to solve problems required
·
Must have excellent interpersonal skills and
work effectively with customers and management
·
Must be have excellent oral and written
communication skills
·
Must be a motivated self-starter who can work
independently while also possessing the capability and willingness to take
direction, as appropriate
·
Must possess excellent organizational skills
·
Knowledge/familiarity with MSOW, Star, Meditech,
and Cerner preferred
·
Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
·
Must have ability to establish systems and
processes to carry out work in effective and efficient manner
