Medical Assistant or Dermatology Technician (MA-C)','200105','Dermatology','Washington-Seattle','Days','40 hours per week','40 hours per week','7:00am-5:30pm','7:00am-5:30pm','Monday-Friday','Monday-Friday','','','!*!As a Dermatology Technician, under the direction of a Dermatologist and/or Mohs surgeon, you will provide clinical, surgical, and administrative support in an ambulatory care setting. The Dermatology Technician will work with patients seeking care for general, cosmetic, and surgical dermatology, and the Dermatology Technican will make the patient’s comfort, safety, and confidentiality the primary concern. Provides direct patient care with rooming and preparing patients for visits, assisting physicians in procedures and surgeries, and laser treatments across Dermatology and Mohs as required by manager, and under the direct supervision of the provider.The Medical Assistant assists providers and other members of the health care team in clinic offices by performing a variety of back office and patient-related tasks and ensuring smooth patient and work flow within the department. The Medical Assistant performs a variety of patient care procedures within the Medical Assistant (MA) scope of practice, which may include but is not limited to: injections, EKGs, ear lavage and blood draws, measuring patient vital signs (weight, height, blood pressure, pulse, respirations, and temperature),manage rooming and patient flow, including pre-visit preparation, assisting with the patient visit, and post-visit duties, informs provider of schedule changes that impact patient flow, may assist with front office activities and varied scheduling tasks and reports test results as directed by the provider. We require:
· High school diploma or GED required· Medical Assistant – Certified required· Maintain active CPR· At least 1 year of experience as a practicing medical assistant in a dermatology or MOHS clinic/setting, or LPN with procedural skills and demonstrated competency of skills· Completion of the Association of Certified Dermatology Technicians (ACDT) program within 1 year of employment. This includes completion of all online modules, in-house tests and validation of competency with manager/supervisor.
·Current Association of Certified Dermatology Technicians (ACDT) credential preferred.
· An AA degree is preferred.
