Description  Summary: Under the supervision of the RN Assists with the delivery of direct and indirect patient Care through the nursing process of Assessment Planning Intervention and Evaluation. Assists professional nursing personnel in providing patient care in assigned area. Assists patients with activities of daily living, provides personal care, education, emotional support. Performs more complex clinical skills under the direct supervision of the RN.  Description: ·         Maintains the standard of nursing care and implements policies and procedures of the hospital and nursing department ·         Observes and reports patient’s level of pain, Utilizes non pharmaceutical pain management techniques as directed by RN  ·         Under the direct supervision of the RN performs treatments and evaluates patient’s response to treatment, reporting findings to the RN. Performs routine treatment procedures such as enemas, application of appliances for heat and cold, insertion of indwelling urinary catheters, blood glucose checks, and venipuncture EKG’s. ·         Reviews Plan of care (POC) and collaborates with all departments regarding POC and reports findings to RN for documentation ·         Under the direct supervision of RN performs patient care responsibilities considering needs specific to the standard of care for patients age ·         Interacts professionally with patient/family and assists RN with involving the patient/family in the formation of the plan of care.  Treats patients and their families with respect and dignity. Identifies and assists in addressing psychosocial, cultural, ethnic and religious/spiritual needs of the patients and their families ·         Provides general nursing care such a personal hygiene, positioning, lifting, turning and applying/utilizing special equipment. Assists patients in the use of bedpan, urinal, commode, ambulation as appropriate.  Under direction of RN renders pre and post-operative care, application of binder or anti embolic stockings, maintaining environmental safety in patient’s room and on unit ·         Takes and records all vital signs accurately; including temperature, pulse, respirations, blood pressure, and intake and output measurements, immediately reports any abnormalities to RN ·         Assists RN with patient admission, transfer and discharge procedures.  Assists with handling and care of patient belongings ·         Answers call lights telephone and paging system and responds as appropriate ·         Under supervision and direction of RN apply release remove and reapply restraints ·         Serves and removes patient meal trays in timely manner. Assists with patient set up for meals and feeding patient as needed.  Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: ·         Excellent oral, and written communication and interpersonal skills ·         Basic computer knowledge ·         Able to organize tasks, develop action plans set priorities and function under stressful situations ·         Ability to maintain a good working relationship both within the department and with other departments ·         Must pass NCLEX within 12 months of graduation ·         Must read, write and speak fluent English ·         Must have good and regular attendance ·         Performs other related duties as assigned ·         Approximate percent of time required to travel:  0%   Qualifications Qualifications: Education                              Graduate of an accredited RN program awaiting to take                                                                                      NCLEX, or in the final year of an accredited RN Program Licenses/Certification:         Current BLS and ACLS certifications. Experience                             Clinical rotations in an accredited RN program.
