Description
The Financial (Pricing) Analyst analyzes and forecasts financial, economic, and other data to provide accurate and timely information for strategic and operational decisions. This Financial Analyst work assignments are varied and frequently require interpretation and independent determination of the appropriate courses of action. The work will involve building relationships and regular connections to the larger Pharmacy Analytics team.
Responsibilities
The Financial Analyst 2 collects, compiles, verifies, and analyzes financial information so that senior management has accurate and timely information for making strategic and operational decisions on pricing for third party mail order pharmacy clients. This person will work with Finance and Analytics to gather and interpret financial information for new, existing and proposed pharmacy clients.
Analyzes the financial implications of bid pricing and provides financial proposals so that senior managers can evaluate pricing against the organization's business objectives.
Evaluates industry, economic, financial, and market trends to forecast Humana Pharmacy's short, medium, and long-term financial and competitive position.
Managing financial components of third party clients - determine bid pricing, create financial proposals, etc.
May involve financial modeling, reporting and budgeting as well.
On an on-going basis, this roll conducts pricing analytics to ascertain profitability and track alignment with organizational targets and standards.
Provides pricing data to internal stakeholders and to sales team for assistance needed in pending client transactions to secure current and future business opportunities.
Supports Sales and Implementation Teams by providing data, conducting market trends, collaborating on negotiation strategies, and to fulfill prospective client RFPs
Develop and maintain key relationships with multiple business areas
The Financial Analyst understands department, segment, and organizational strategy and operating objectives, including their linkages to related areas.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree ideally in finance, accounting or similar field
3 - 5 years of experience in a finance or accounting role within the healthcare industry
Experience with a relational database (Access, Oracle or other)
Intermediate or advanced level user with Microsoft Excel
Proficient in manipulating financial data for analysis and reporting
Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences
Associates working in the state of Arizona must comply with the Tobacco Free Hiring Policy (see details below under Additional Information) and upon offer will be subjected to nicotine testing as part of a 10-panel drug test
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience developing pricing strategy
Previous health insurance industry experience working in a Finance/Accounting department
