Description
The Staff Clinical Pharmacist- Clinical Formulary Administration monitors drug development pipeline, and medical literature, while providing clinical support for internal stakeholders. Utilizes broad understanding of managed care and PBM knowledge to develop, and/or implement strategies and programs to mitigate cost trend and improve health outcomes. The Staff Clinical Pharmacist work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
Responsibilities
The Staff Clinical Pharmacist-Clinical Formulary Administration develops, maintains, and/or operationalizes formularies related to coverage, utilization management edits, or clinical coverage policies for pharmacy and medical administered drug products. Conducts analysis on drug utilization trends to evaluate and inform formulary strategies. Collaborates on research projects and develops proposals for research projects. Develops corporate communications to be shared with senior leadership. Supports trend management by conducting analysis of drug spend, utilization, and/or approval scenarios. Begins to influence department's strategy. Makes decisions on moderately complex to complex issues regarding technical approach for project components, and work is performed without direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments.
Required Qualifications
PharmD Degree
Active pharmacist license in the state(s) of Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio or Tennessee
Demonstrated delivery of business results
Ability to communicate effectively and deliver presentations
Strong analytical, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
Able to partner with stakeholders to align on strategies
Strong organizational skills and ability to stay on schedule
Ability to work independently and within a team setting to achieve goals and meet deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience with pharmacy benefits management
Previous Commercial, Medicare and/or Medicaid experience
3 years clinical experience in managed care
Ability to manage end-to-end-processes
Previous management experience and ability to lead teams
Previous program or project management experience
Excellent data analysis and experience working with Access, SQL and Excel
Six Sigma and/or Project Management Professional certification
Health Plan experience
Knowledge of Medicare formulary regulations (Part D Chapter 6)
