Job Description:
BASIC PURPOSE: In support of the mission of the University. This position serves the Froelich School of Nursing in coordinating the work of the academic department specifically as it relates to the post-bachelor's accelerated nursing track application process, and the clinical placement of all students in the nursing program. This position will assist the Dean of Nursing interacting frequently with faculty, staff, clinical partners, students, other campus departments, and the public.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Manage program clinical placement requests through the Clinical Coordination Partnership (CCP) Grid and attend quarterly meetings as the Froelich School of Nursing Representative,
Manage program clinical placement requests when agency is not included in CCP Grid,
Initiate and maintain clinical contracts,
Manage the onboarding of students and faculty into clinical settings,
Track all student clinical placements and clinical hours in compliance with CMR 244 6.04,
Manage the clinical instructor orientation for the Froelich School of Nursing clinical instructors across the curriculum,
Develop and keep current the handbook for clinical instructors in various clinical agencies, as appropriate and requested by Dean and/or faculty,
Develop and keep current the nurse preceptor handbook for precepted clinical experiences,
Develop relationships with new clinical agencies to support diverse clinical education experiences,
Collaborate with Froelich School of Nursing Administrative Assistant to ensure student and faculty compliance with clinical credentialing,
Attend Nursing Faculty Assembly meetings and provide a written/verbal summary report,
Participate in the culture of assessment and program improvement as outlined in the Froelich School of Nursing Program Assessment and Evaluation Plan,
Share responsibility for data management and maintenance. Works with Information Technology, the Registrar's Office, the Center for Internships and Career Development, and the Institutional Research Office to do so.
Other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
* Must be willing to contribute actively to the mission of the University and the programs, as well as show respect for the Catholic and Assumptionist identity of Assumption University.
* A bachelor's degree is required.
* Excellent verbal and written skills; strong organizational skills.
* Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively deal with a variety of individuals.
* Intermediate computing skills with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) are required to create complex spreadsheets, documents, and databases and work independently on projects as assigned.
* Ability to follow-up, follow-through, multi-task, set priorities and adhere to deadlines.
* Ability to function independently, work collaboratively, pay attention to detail, work under pressure, prioritize multiple projects, and handle confidential information.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
* Bachelor's degree in a health-related field.
* Experience in a University setting with proven technical abilities across a variety or complex software systems, relational databases, and web-based programs. Familiarity with nursing clinical practice sites in Massachusetts; understanding of primary, acute and tertiary care settings. Experience with on-campus and distance education.
* Experience in a healthcare-related training program that includes a clinical component. At the University's discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be excepted where the candidate can demonstrate, to the satisfaction of the University, an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position
