Description

The Actuarial Product Manager manages the ecosystem of actuarial tools, models, and methodology for a focused yet complex subset of the Individual MA pricing and forecasting process. Fully owns the build, prioritization, and execution of a roadmap outlining short-term and long-term strategy for the ecosystem. Keeps the customer as the focal point of all decisions in order to foster satisfaction, loyalty, and advocacy. Collaborates across teams to facilitate cohesion among tool owners in the ecosystem, advising on strategic direction, and managing dependencies within and connected to the ecosystem. Manages the team responsible for carrying out related work and works closely with IT to prioritize and usher work through the software development process. Works under minimal supervision, has a bias for action, communicates effectively, and has a positive mindset.

Responsibilities

Humana is seeking an Actuary that will be responsible for:

Develop short-term and long-term strategy for focus area and maintain a roadmap.

Identify, guide, and design approach to executing on solutions.

Ensure tools function correctly, according to provided business requirements.

Own inventory of all expected changes - requires collecting, understanding, and refreshing updates on regular basis

Manage intake and feedback process (collection, processing, and translation into improvement initiatives). Initiate engagement at appropriate times, and manage for immediate needs

Manage key stakeholders

May own tools within the ecosystem and would bear the additional responsibility that comes with being a tool owner (e.g. own actuarial methodology within tool)

Provide status updates and raise work stream dependencies

Manage work stream progress and team development

Drive overall work plan and timeline for team and oversee team activities

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree

FSA or ASA

MAAA

Demonstrated ability to communicate Actuarial technical terms to various business partners

Experience in more than two functions (e.g., modeling, pricing, rate filing, reporting & analysis, reserving or trending)

Experience selling ideas to leaders, stakeholders, and colleagues

Experience writing, modifying, and reading code in SAS, SQL, or similar programs

Preferred Qualifications

Healthcare Industry Experience

Experience demonstrating strategic planning, prioritization, and execution

Experience leading, motivating, and coaching a team to drive towards a common goal

Experience demonstrating a sense of purposeful urgency and determination to jump in and do what is needed

Medicare Advantage Experience
