\u003cp\u003eOpened in 1986, La Paz offers an alternative for people who might otherwise be in state hospitals or acute care facilities. Treatment at La Paz is based on the philosophy that all individuals have the potential to improve their level of functioning and make choices that impact their quality of life. The goal of La Paz is to reduce the symptoms of severe mental illness; provide safe, effective medical and psychiatric treatment to all residents; and allow individuals more choice and involvement in their treatment. As with all Telecare programs, treatment at La Paz is based on the philosophy that regardless of age or degree of impairment, all individuals have the potential to improve their functioning and to make choices about their environments for living, learning, working, and socializing.\u003c/p\u003e

Provides direct services to persons served, community consultation and assessment of assigned persons. Provides education and support to persons served and their families. Completes \u003cem\u003ein vivo \u003c/em\u003escreenings and assessments of persons served as needed and recommended by the interdisciplinary team. The Staff Psychologist shall also be responsible for any psychological testing required for specific persons served.
