Virginia Mason is seeking a certified Medical Assistant. You will act as primary contact for patients, answering telephones and scheduling patient appointments with providers. Reminds patients of upcoming appointments. Schedules new or follow up appointments. Explains logistics related to appointments (e.g., appointment time, parking). Routes phone calls per urgent/emergent guidelines.
Coordinates and schedules services for patients and providers. Maintains provider’s daily schedules and communicates changes. Updates insurance information. Manages information such as filing, pharm refill line, release/receipt of records, x-rays and referrals. Perform telephone and in-person screening

Graduation from an accredited Medical Assisting program, with Washington State Department of Health Medical Assistant - Certified (CM) or Medical Assistant Interim (IC) credential required.
Knowledge of third party payer requirements required.
Strong aptitude for detail, and ability to work independently, required.
Strong organizational, problem solving, communication and interpersonal skills required. Skill in using a PC required.
