Description
The Wellness Coach 2 supports health promotion and disease prevention and care management services. The Wellness Coach 2 work assignments are varied and frequently require interpretation and independent determination of the appropriate courses of action.
Responsibilities
The Wellness Coach 2 explains, educates, reinforces, and coaches members on their tailored self-help plans.
Identifies problems, sets goals, and determines the individual's health status based on assessment.
Establishes goals for each individual regarding educational and health care needs.
May communicate with primary care and/or treating physician to request specific health information and/or to provide an update of an individual's health care status.
Understands department, segment, and organizational strategy and operating objectives, including their linkages to related areas.
Makes decisions regarding own work methods, occasionally in ambiguous situations, and requires minimal direction and receives guidance where needed.
Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments.
Follows established guidelines/procedures.
Required Qualifications
Bilingual English/Spanish - Must be able to speak, read and write in both languages without limitations or assistance ( See Additional Information on testing).
Bachelor's degree in health promotion, nutrition, exercise science, health psychology or related field
NBC-HWC (National Board Certified Health & Wellness Coach) or NBHWC exam eligible and registered for the certification exam in 2021.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent keyboard and web navigation skills.
Familiarity with MS Office products.
Strong organizational skills - Must be able manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously.
Ability to serve as a facilitator of peoples' behavior change, not be the expert and/or educator.
Strong learning orientation - committed to continuous learning and development.
Ability to shift focus and quickly adapt to change as needed.
Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences
Must have a separate room with a locked door that can be used as a home office, to ensure you have absolute and continuous privacy while you work.
Must have the ability to provide a high-speed DSL or cable modem for a home office (Satellite and Wireless Internet service is NOT allowed for this role). A minimum standard speed for optimal performance of 10x1 (10mbs download x 1mbs upload) is required.
Preferred Qualifications
3 or more years of experience in health and wellness coaching.
Life coaching experience.
Additional Information
This is a Variable Staffing Pool (VSP/Part-time) position and is not eligible for medical benefits.
VSP Coaches must be available for a minimum of 25 hours of work per week. However, the company does not guarantee that a minimum amount of work hours will be available. Work is assigned according to demand and may gradually fluctuate to accommodate business needs.
Typical Hours/Days: Monday - Friday; 8am to 8pm Eastern Standard Time (EST). Specific hours, especially evening hours, may be required depending on program needs.
Language Proficiency Test: Any Humana associate who speaks with a member in a language other than English must take a language proficiency assessment, provided by an outside vendor, to ensure competency. Applicants will be required to take the Interagency Language Rating (ILR) test as provided by the Federal Government.
Interview Format
As part of our hiring process, we will be using an exciting interviewing technology provided by Montage/Modern Hire, a third-party vendor. This technology provides our team of recruiters and hiring managers an enhanced method for decision-making.
If you are selected to move forward from your application prescreen, you will receive correspondence inviting you to participate in a pre-recorded Voice Interview and/or an SMS Text Messaging interview. If participating in a pre-recorded interview, you will respond to a set of interview questions via your phone. You should anticipate this interview to take approximately 10-15 minutes.
If participating in a SMS Text interview, you will be asked a series of questions to which you will be using your cell phone to answer the questions provided. Expect this type of interview to last anywhere from 5-10 minutes. Your recorded interview(s) via text and/or pre-recorded voice will be reviewed and you will subsequently be informed if you will be moving forward to next round of interviews.
