JOB SUMMARY

This position is located at Carilion New River Valley Medical Center (CNRVMC) in Christiansburg, VA.  This is a full time position, Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm with call for after hours and on the weekend. Call response time to the facility is within 30 minutes of notification.  This position is eligible for our career advancement/career ladder program. Advancement from a CVT I to CVT II, or CVT III is voluntary and earned on an annual basis. 

This position will support Carilion's hallmarks of service excellence and quality for all job responsibilities.  Will assist physician with direct patient care during catheterization or interventional procedures in the scrub, circulator, and monitor positions within the Cardiac Cath Lab. Will deliver quality service through a team-oriented, collaborative approach to care for adult and geriatric patients.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: RCV through American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) preferred; Graduate of Allied Health Profession School (RRT, RTT) with board registry/licensure required or Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner by the VA State Board of Medicine, Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care or Registered Cardiovascular Interventional Specialist (RCIS) or Registered Cardiovascular Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES).

Experience: Interventional Radiology or critical care experience preferred.

Licensure/Certifications/Registration: Current RTT or RTR status. AHS BLS-HCP required.  Required to obtain/maintain AHA BLS based on specific work unit.  Must successfully complete AHA ACLS within six months of hire date and maintain current status.

Other Minimum Qualifications: Effective interpersonal, communication, and teamworking skills required.  Must successfully complete orientation and competency validation for position.
