SUMMARY

Global Asset Technologies, LLC, a subsidiary of Bering Straits Native Corporation is currently seeking a qualified Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) who is also a qualified Dive Medical Technician (DMT) in Coronado, CA. This position will support and augment military personnel in direct and indirect support of the training and development of enlisted SEAL candidates.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The Essential Duties and Responsibilities are intended to present a descriptive list of the range of duties performed for this position, and are

not

intended to reflect all duties performed within the job. Other duties may be assigned.

Provide medical coverage for all diver illnesses and accidents.

Provide medical coverage for all physical training evolutions.

Maintain/manage student medial charts.

Used as a source of medical knowledge and instruction.

Perform any relevant medical duty in support of Naval Special Warfare Basic Training Command.

QUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION

Required (Minimum) Qualifications

Current national EMT Paramedic certification.

Current Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) certification.

Two (2) years of EMT-P experience within the past five (5) years.

Graduated from a certified DMT course with the appropriate documentation.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

Understanding of structures and functions of the human body.

Medical management in a hyperbaric environment.

Ability to gather an accurate medical history and to elicit physical signs.

Use and maintenance of medical equipment available at the site of the diving operation.

Ability to keep confidential medical histories protected under HIPAA.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Must maintain a constant state of mental alertness at all times. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

3.6.1.2 Be physically able to conduct small boat operations at sea, in varied sea states for durations up to six hours. Contractor will not operate small boats.

3.6.1.3 Serve as lead instructors for the administration of the diving specific remediation curriculum to those students in the roll-back remediation program. The remediation instruction shall encompass monitoring and implement progress initiatives in the conduct of practical pool dives under the direction of a certified diving supervisor.

3.8 Medical Support: 3.8.1 Paramedics shall provide medical coverage for all physical training evolutions.

3.8.2 Paramedics shall streamline medical screening/clearing process.

3.8.3 Paramedics shall provide physical therapy for the students.

3.8.4 Paramedics shall maintain/manage student medical chits.

3.8.5 Paramedics shall maintain/manage student medical records.

3.8.6 Paramedics shall be used as a source of medical knowledge and instruction.

3.8.7 Paramedics shall perform any relevant medical duty in support of Naval Special Warfare Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL course.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work Environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be borne by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. 

Job is performed outdoors, day/night standing on boats and in inclement weather.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

No supervisory responsibilities.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS

As a condition of employment, may be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening, as well as have acceptable reference and background check results to obtain access to military base. Must have reliable transportation to/from work a necessity and must be able to obtain access to military installations.
