The Mental Health Associate-ED is responsible for providing a safe, supportive and therapeutic environment while providing direct observation for an assigned patient experiencing confusion, suicidal ideation, or other psychiatric condition requiring close supervision. This position works in conjunction with the Registered Nurse assigned to the patient. Work situations are confined to patient’s rooms or immediate area and require alertness, constant attention to the patient, and skill in reacting appropriately to changing situations and circumstances Minimum Requirements:

Previous patient care experience preferred

Successful completion of Mental Health Training Program; must be completed before beginning unit based orientation unless certified as a C.N.A. upon hire. Education/Licenses/Certifications:

High School Diploma

Current BLS Certification

Graduate of Certified Nursing Assistant Program with Licensure or must complete Nursing Assistant Registration within 60 days of employment if not already certified
