The School of Speech, Language, Hearing, and Occupational Sciences in the College of Health at the University of Montana invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor position beginning as early as January 2023
. A successful candidate will be expected to develop a strong research program, pursue funding for research or service programs, teach graduate/undergraduate courses (academic and/or clinical), advise and mentor students, direct student research, and participate in school, college, and university service.
About The School of Speech, Language, Hearing, and Occupational Sciences
The School of Speech, Language, Hearing, and Occupational Sciences (SLHOS) is accredited through the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology and offers the following programs: (1) a Ph.D. doctoral degree in Speech and Hearing Sciences, (2) a Master’s of Science (MS) degree in Speech-Language Pathology, (3) a bachelor’s degree in Communicative Sciences and Disorders, (4) a Post-baccalaureate Leveling Certificate, (5) and a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) certificate. An occupational therapy graduate program will be launched in the near future.
The School currently has 6 tenured/tenure-track faculty members, 4 non-tenure track clinical assistant professors in speech, language, and hearing sciences, and additional academic and clinical adjuncts. The School currently has approximately 3 PhD students, 70 master’s students, 110 undergraduate majors, 70 leveling students, and 30-40 SLPA students. SLHOS faculty deliver content via direct, campus-based course instruction, synchronous online instruction, and asynchronous online instruction. Faculty direct active research labs and conduct rigorous research in addition to commitment to the scholarship of teaching. In addition, faculty are committed to innovative clinical training programs conducted through the on-campus DeWit RiteCare Speech, Language, Hearing Clinic Faculty. SLHOS faculty foster and enjoy interprofessional research and training collaborations across international, regional, and campus partnerships.
