PRN / Community Outreach Coordinator','230001A6','The primary purpose and responsibility of the Community Outreach Coord is to maintain the program's reputation in the community and develop relationships with community organizations. Secondarily, The COC will initiate educational and other outreach activities to promote youth health and development. This will include representing the program at public events, building new community relationships and strengthening existing ones, and developing and implementing novel programming related to health and development.','!*!Minimum Education
Bachelor's Degree Communications, Social Work, Psychology, Neuroscience, Biology, Public Health, Health Administration, or other relevant field. (Required)
Minimum Work Experience
2 years' experience in communication, including social media and knowledge related to assigned program. (Required)
Functional Accountabilities
Community Outreach Program Development
Develop and conduct family organizational trainings on topics of importance to assigned program.
Conduct focus groups in the community to identify gaps in education and to understand current needs.
Develop specific programming and services to fill identified areas of need.
Coordinate social media and other outreach efforts with Children’s National PR staff.
Organize events in the community.
General
Meet with Research Administrator and/or Coordinators weekly to present new opportunities and plans for enhancing community engagement and report on activities completed.
Meet with Program Director, Associate Director, and other individuals or groups as identified, weekly to discuss long-term goals and specific plans for achieving them.
