JOB SUMMARY

Performs specific job responsibilities:

*Collects and enters data originating throughout Carilion Clinic and outside Carilion Clinic into electronic databases and spreadsheets.  Data may be received verbally, electronically, and in printed form and must be documented and stored to serve as a historical reference for future needs. *Reviews Epic or other electronic systems “Workbench Report” to identify needs for providers to be added to the Epic system. *Provides customer service for various processes including telecommunication needs, vendor relations, and clinical staff. Communicates with data providers to ensure timely data and validates data accuracy. *Monitors assigned work queues to identify data correction requirements and implement as appropriate without supervision. Extracts and analyzes relevant data to assist with report development and data verification.  *Assists in identifying specific information needs with respect to frequency of report, content and report design. * Routine monitoring of business or application processes. *Resolves issues and problems as they arise and escalates issues as needed to complete focused quality improvement projects under direction *Be technically proficient and possess excellent customer service skills that include clear verbal communication of technical information to non-technical personnel, proper telephone etiquette, and ability to listen closely to customer comments.

 MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Requires a high school diploma or GED equivalent.

Experience: 1 year in related data entry functions, 3 years of healthcare experience related to Health Information Management.

Other Minimum Qualifications: Must be self-motivated, organized and logic oriented.  Must demonstrate proficiency in data capture and recording.  Effective oral and written communication and problem solving skills required.   Must be able to work flexible hours including overtime and weekends as needed.OUR VALUES
