Description

The Physical Therapist 2 reviews authorizations for appropriateness and continued services that help restore function, improve mobility, relieve pain, and prevent or limit permanent physical disabilities of patients suffering from injuries or disease.

Responsibilities

The Physical Therapist 2 work assignments are varied and frequently require interpretation and independent determination of the appropriate courses of action.

Review authorizations received from providers or a customer service queue and approve or gather more information as needed.

Understands department, segment, and organizational strategy and operating objectives, including their linkages to related areas

Works with Medical Director to determine clinical appropriateness

Makes decisions regarding own work methods, occasionally in ambiguous situations, and requires minimal direction and receives guidance where needed

Follows established guidelines/procedures

Required Qualifications

Master's Degree in physical therapy (will accept the physical therapists grandfathered into licensure prior to masters requirement)

Current Florida license to practice physical therapy; maintains licensure requirements including 24 hours of continuing education and must reside in the state of Florida

3 year's experience working as Physical Therapist with Adult and Pediatric patients

Must be able to work Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm with weekend and holiday rotation. This will be discussed with the manager if selected for interview

Screening Requirements

Associate working in the State of Florida will need Completion of a Level II; AHCA background clearance Fingerprinting.

Must have the ability to provide a high-speed DSL or cable modem for a home office (Satellite and Wireless Internet service is NOT allowed for this role). A minimum standard speed for optimal performance of 10x1 (10mbs download x 1mbs upload) is required.

Preferred Qualifications

Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy

Bilingual

MCG, CGX, or other criteria based system experience

Experience with Medicaid and health plans

Knowledge of NCQA Guidelines
