Responsibilities

Key responsibilities for the Tools Actuary include:

Takes complex data and makes it understandable and usable for stakeholders and leaders, so that they can derive insights and ultimately make better business decisions.

Identifies modeling needs and executes on building automated tools, user interfaces, and visualizations.

Works directly with the Pricing Actuaries, Forecasters, Underwriters, and Leadership to understand business needs/issues and troubleshoot problems.

Makes decisions on complex issues regarding technical approach for project components, and work is performed without direction.

Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree

ASA with at least 3 years of healthcare industry experience or FSA with at least 1 year of healthcare industry experience

MAAA

Experience performing data analytics and building user interfaces and visualizations

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills

Preferred Qualifications

5 years of actuarial experience

Pricing experience

Advanced proficiency with SAS & SQL

Advanced proficiency with VBA

Experience in creating reports, projections, models, and presentations to support business
