Description
The Senior Product Management Professional/Technical Product Manager (TPM) must be able to lead, plan and track all phases of the product life cycle, from inception to introduction into the marketplace and ongoing management. The TPM role has an increased focus on the technical side of products and is required to have expertise in fields or industries such as software development, engineering, IT, and a wide variety of others. Technical PMs make use of their technical expertise to work closely with the development team. They partner to focus on customer needs with a greater emphasis with the engineering team on product prioritization, product strategy, product lifecycle, and product development, making use of their technical knowledge of the product. The ability to understand how to work in an environment transitioning to SAFe Agile is critical. This individual's work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Additionally they will need to own and prioritize the assigned product backlog.
The technical product manager will:
Prioritize what to work on from the backlog
Develop features, user stories and business requirements
Improve coordination over cross-functional teams
Inform architectural strategy
Understand and analyze data pipelines, algorithms, and automated systems.
Responsibilities
The Senior Product Management Professional partners closely with our functional partners, market partners, and business owners. They recommend prioritization, schedule changes, cost adjustments or resource additions. Detail work feature stories by adhering to Azure Dev Ops standards and prioritizing business asks. Investigates facts and develops solutions to problems during the design and planning phases. Provides timely and accurate information and status updates to functional leaders. May be responsible for identifying product gaps, defining product requirements and engaging with customers to understand market needs and trends. Begins to influence department's strategy by working with the Market CIOs and Business Development in the procurement process. Makes decisions on moderately complex to complex issues regarding technical approach for project components, and work is performed without direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments. Improves communication with customers.
Key responsibilities:
Develops and drives priority features in a Medicaid environment
Ability to work well with internal teams, including developers, engineers, architects, quality assurance, and operations.
Ensure requirements are fully understood and that implementation plans match expectations
Guides the end to end strategy, design and execution of work for new products or enhancements of existing value streams
Ability to understand technical challenges and make educated trade-offs
IT product manager, initially for a domain and then the future state product
Partners closely with leadership to craft Medicaid product strategy
Leads and guides the business systems analysts/ product owners to ensure understanding of Humana's needs to drive work and delivery
Participate in planning/ PI Planning events including readiness through Pre- & Post-PI planning meetings
Assist team members with facilitating feature & epics estimation during its identification/prioritization -
Understand, research, and follow technical trends in the industry and in general.
Ability to understand tech trends, how they impact the product roadmap and how they drive innovation
Follow competitors and conduct capability analysis regularly
Provides strategic direction and guardrails to the sprint plan and the backlog
Manages Release Plan ensuring teams have enough prioritized backlog groomed and shovel ready to keep the pipeline flowing
Influences product strategy and roadmap rooted in consumer insights and analysis of market findings
Makes executive level recommendations in regards to investments, development lifecycle and prioritization
Accountable for managing investment and partner relationships
Obtain and synthesize complex data to tell product value story
Organizes results, derive actionable insights and communicate with stakeholders and executive level leadership
Leads cross-functional team, IT Scrum teams, and multiple work streams, meeting all key deliverables and maintaining aggressive timelines
Builds excellent working relationships with key partners to enable successful collaboration and measurable results
Serve as a product evangelist and subject matter expert to the technical/developer community
Accountable for ensuring demos occur
Define success criteria/value delivered and product acceptance
Works with Product Owner to understand and leverage market personas to influence product delivery
Improves communication with customers and stakeholders
Required Qualifications
Bachelor Degree or 4 years of product management experience (driving end to end product strategy)
5 years product management experience
Familiarity with Jira Align and Azure DevOps
Ability to understand and simplify technology direction
Comprehensive knowledge of MS Office
Excellent organizational, time management and communication skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where continuous innovation is desired
Excellent interpersonal, presentation, oral and written communication skills
Ability to synthesize data and deliver a clear overview of strategy, opportunity and risks to diverse audiences

Computer science, software development, and/or engineering knowledge.

Preferred Qualifications
Masters Degree
3 years of Healthcare industry experience
3 years of Medicaid experiences
SAFe certification
Azure DevOps certification
Service Now experience
Understanding of APIs
Computer science, software development, and/or engineering knowledge in a healthcare environment
Additional Information
Humana and its subsidiaries require vaccinated associates who work outside of their home to submit proof of vaccination, including COVID-19 boosters.
