Responsibilities

Develop and administer radiation therapy treatment plans under the direction of medical physicistand radiation oncologist.

Design a treatment plan to deliver a prescribed radiation dose and field to a defined tumor volume.

Assist with or perform the application of specific methods of dosimetry, including intracavitary andinterstitial brachytherapy procedures.

Assist with or perform the fabrication of beam modifying devices and immobilization devices.

Provide technical support for radiation protection procedures and qualitative machine calibrations ofequipment.

Maintain radiation safety for self, co-workers and patients in accordance with NRC guidelines.

Assist physicist in the design and implementation of research activities and perform special projectsrelated to dosimetry.

Requirements

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

Medical Dosimetrist credentialed from the Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board obtained within 24 Months (2 years) of hire date or job transfer date required.

Education:

High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate'sdegree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

Additional Preferences

Candidate must possess an in-depth knowledge and understanding of current radiation therapy principles, methods, procedures and planning techniques including 2D, 3D, IMRT, VMAT, and SBRT.

Experience with Eclipse, ARIA, Mosaiq, MIM, Varian and Elekta linacs, as well as secondary dose calculation software such as RadCalc is preferred
