Job Purpose/Summary:
The Global Wellbeing Leader will be a key leader for initiatives that drive improvements in health and physical wellbeing of employees and their families. They will serve as the subject matter expert for enterprise-wide Wellbeing at Tyson Foods. Responsibilities will include research, advocate for health and wellness initiatives, and lead a wide variety of wellbeing projects, vendors, and priorities through a team of specialized professionals and identified wellness champions across the company. The director will provide continuous improvement for health and wellbeing initiatives with the goal of consistently inspiring employees and their families to find the best health and wellbeing approaches for their individual goals and lifestyle.
This position will assist with the development and implementation of health & wellness programs and policies, as well as the promotion and communication of offerings for 139,000 team members across manufacturing plants, service and distribution centers, virtual roles, and corporate offices. The Wellbeing function will collaborate with the Senior Director, internal partners, and external vendors to determine best offerings for Tyson Foods, as well as develop and present recommendations for programs, applications, and offerings to support holistic wellbeing based on best practices, industry trends, focus groups, and insights from internal inputs.
The Global Wellbeing Leader will collaborate with the Senior Director, Business Unit leaders, Human Resources (Benefits, Operations, Talent), Occupational Health, and Safety groups to implement and continually improve the health & wellness program offerings and technology. This position will recruit and provide visible leadership and support to the Senior Director and Wellness Champions across the enterprise, closely align with the Benefits, Occupational Health, and HR organizations, and develop partnerships with other companies, provider, and vendors to grow and modernize our health & wellness programs. The Director Wellbeing must be able to take a vision and put it into action, be willing to challenge the status quo and traditional ways of providing wellbeing support, have experience implementing wellbeing platforms, and experience managing multiple competing stakeholders.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Serves as leader in development of the Wellbeing strategy, enterprise-wide initiatives, and implementation and analytics of Wellbeing platform technology
Ability to access and implement technology enabled solutions resulting in better team member experiences
Serves as a key strategic partner to cross functional teams to leverage knowledge and produce persuasive strategy materials for Senior Director to ensure Health & Wellness objectives are realized
Provides oversight of wellness initiatives across the enterprise, including vendor relationships and establishing, maintaining, and coaching an internal volunteer network of wellness champions
Utilizes data and facts to facilitate development of insights into current performance, and develop actionable metrics for our wellbeing offerings to track engagement, effectiveness, and value to employees and the company
Recommends program improvements as appropriate to maximize impact on employees and overall employee experience. Provide leadership & expertise in all areas of global wellbeing and mental health
Establishes modern and inventive ways to inspire, engage and excite employees to participate in wellbeing initiatives leveraging a variety of social, marketing, and other platforms
Continually assesses programs and projects, leads gaps assessments, analyzes details and date, measures program effectiveness, utilization, and cost-benefit analysis. Prepares material to support recommendations, including cost-benefit, utilization, etc. Focused on strategic solutions for the 2–5-year time horizon
Develop comprehensive worksite wellness programs and provide advisory level direction on wellness and health advocacy efforts to include program design, protocol development, data collection and analysis, program review, best practices, performance measures, and oversights
Develop engaging new collateral promoting worksite wellness across the enterprise
Design and deploy a set of health & wellbeing policies aimed at promoting health, wellbeing, and energy management in the workplace
Design and deploy various incentive, health and wellbeing programs and initiatives regionally and globally
Lead the design, development, and coordination of all health and wellness related communications
Creates and manages health and wellness program budgets, vendor reviews and recommendations, RFP implementation process, delivery, reporting, invoicing for health plan rewards strategy and program design
Develop and support innovative partnerships with external organizations such as American Heart Association, Business Group on Health, and others
Identify, establish, and manage vendor relationships, serves as key partner with legal and sourcing on new vendor contract negotiations
Identify and manage wellness champion network, staff, and global wellness teams at each Tyson facility Manage all 3rd party relationships with consultants and vendors and provide direction and guidance on program implementation
Develop health promotion curriculum on learning platform, which allows employees to engage in behavior change programs anywhere in the world via mobile app
Create a healthy worksite certification program for Tyson facilities globally
Leads day-to-day operations for global wellbeing programs, initiatives, and events for engaged participants, focusing on promoting, coordinating, and implementing corporate-wide initiatives
Develop strategic and tactical plans that create a safety conscious environment that results in employee safety and well-being
Requirements:
Education: Bachelor's degree in medical, or wellness related field required. Advanced degree such as MBA, MPH, or MHA is preferred. MD/DO, DC, PA, NP, RN, or other health professions with an unrestricted license is desired but not required.
Experience: 10 years of progressive experience in employee wellbeing, health & wellness benefits, occupational health, or related healthcare administration required; corporate experience in manufacturing industry preferred.
Computer Skills: Advanced computer skills required, to include proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Word), and health platforms.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and negotiation skills required. Must be able to relate to all levels of the organization-from the executive level to the plant floor.
Special Skills: Ability to lead from a position of influence. Tech savvy with knowledge and implementation of wellbeing platforms, health-related mobile applications, and wearable devices. Specialized knowledge and thorough understanding of employee health & wellness programs, benefits, and regulatory requirements for healthcare and wellness. Must be able to assist in identifying and managing wellness champions across multiple locations.
Travel: 12 trips per year.
Location of Position: Office location is in Springdale, AR; however, flexibility will be considered for the right candidate.
Supervisory: Experience leading and managing a team of professionals required. Must follow Tyson Team Member Care programs and follow Tyson Foods' 5Cs (Caring, Candor, Commitment, Creativity, and Collaboration) in all interpersonal interactions.
