Description

The Medical Record Retrieval Specialist (Risk Adjustment Representative) travels to provider offices within the region and scans medical records into a secure system. The records are reviewed by Humana's Coding staff.

Responsibilities

The Medical Record Retrieval Representative (Risk Adjustment Representative) ensures coding is accurate and properly supported by clinical documentation within the health record. Follows state and federal regulations as well as internal policies and guidelines while analyzing coding information and medical records.

Travels up to 90% of the time, and will consist of driving to locations close to your home, as well as driving to locations that require overnight travel for up to a week at a time

Uses a laptop computer and a portable scanner to retrieve medical records which will be uploaded into a database

Schedules appointments and visits to physician offices in a timely, efficient manner to meet all deadlines

Required Qualifications

1 or more years experience with Medical Records, hospital and/or medical office setting

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word and Excel

Ability to travel locally up to 90% of the time

Ability to travel overnight occasionally within the region

Must have reliable transportation

This role is part of Humana's Driver safety program and therefore requires an individual to have a valid state driver's license and proof of personal vehicle liability insurance with at least 100/300/100 limits

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge and experience in health care environment/managed care

Additional Information

Monday-Friday 8am-5pm, subject to changed based on business needs

Located in the Jackson, MS area but could travel to LA, AL, MS TN and/or VA based on business needs

According to Humana's COVID-19 policy, vaccination and masking is required regardless of vaccination status (with exception for eating and drinking) for associates working in a clinical setting where patients receive care (e.g., pharmacy retail locations, clinics, home care). The policy only requires the primary series alone (first and second vaccine). Boosters are encouraged, but not required. Additional Information

If participating in a SMS Text interview, you will be asked a series of questions to which you will be using your cell phone or computer to answer the questions provided. Expect this type of interview to last anywhere from 5-10 minutes. Your recorded interview(s) via text and/or pre-recorded voice will be reviewed and you will subsequently be informed if you will be moving forward to next round of interviews.

Work at Home Guidance

To ensure Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates' ability to work effectively, the self-provided internet service of Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates must meet the following criteria:

At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is recommended; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested

Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if approved by leadership

Associates who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense.

Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.
