The University of Cincinnati Blue Ash College invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position for the Medical Assisting Services program within the Allied Health Department to begin August 15, 2020. UC Blue Ash College is the largest regional college in Ohio, located in Blue Ash, Ohio with an enrollment of approximately 5100 students. All positions require proficiency in English and excellent information literacy/computer skills.
Tenure track faculty responsibilities include teaching courses within the Medical Assisting certificate program and other courses within the Allied Health Department; supervising and evaluating students in the clinical lab and practicum settings; participating in accreditation, recruitment, academic advising, program resource development, and other program, department, college, and university functions.
Minimum Qualifications: CERTIFIED Medical Assistant (CMA (AAMA)) with MINIMUM of an Associate Degree in Medical Assisting; Bachelor's Degree in related field; two (2 )years successful classroom teaching experience with knowledge of course development, instruction, evaluation, and academic advising; recent professional experience. Completion of a master's degree will be required within three years of hire. CPR certified at the level of Health Care Provider through the American Heart Association and be able to competently administer CPR.
The following essential functional abilities must be met by all applicants. The faculty member must be able to
*utilize electronic media in the office, classroom, and laboratory settings, *move and operate medical assisting and other health-related equipment, *communicate effectively and immediately with others in verbal and written form, *interpret environmental cues, audio and visual stimuli, and respond immediately as necessary, *engage in classroom, laboratory, and clinical activities for a sustained period. This includes frequent standing and walking for 3-5 hours.
All applicants must also possess the visual acuity necessary to read, compute, and identify objects correctly.
