Humana's Corporate Stragtegy team is a high-performing organization that works closely with Humana's senior leaders to help chart the course for the company's future. In Strategy, you will identify and analyze exciting new growth opportunities and work with business leaders to prioritize strategic investments and execute strategic transformation. 'Strategy Operations' is one of a three teams within the Strategy organization, which also includes the Corporate Development and Strategy Planning functions. The Strategy Operations team provides consulting services to Humana's lines of business on a project basis. As a member of this team, you will help senior executives advance and operationalize their strategies and solve complex business problems.
Responsibilities
The Senior Corporate Strategy Analyst role is modeled after top-tier management consultancies. As such, day-to-day activities will include developing industry analysis, building high-level financial/business modeling, conducting qualitative analysis (e.g. informational interviews) and synthesizing strategic options to create executive-level deliverables and recommendations for Humana's senior leaders and Board. In addition, you will also have the ability to work across the other teams in Strategy Operations (e.g. to support acquisition integration) and the wider Corporate Strategy department (e.g. work with Corporate Development to operationalize due diligence).
Key Responsibilities
Execute work assignments involving complex business issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of key drivers.
Lead strategic problem solving efforts by helping senior leaders define key issues, develop hypotheses and design recommendations/solutions
Develop actionable insights to equip senior leaders with the right data to make informed strategic decisions
Support cross-functional projects, working with leaders throughout the company to execute complex, high-priority strategic initiatives
Convert strategy into roadmaps, business cases and projects while prioritizing timelines and ensuring alignment and execution
Identify the short & long term impacts of key strategies by assessing qualitative and quantitative data
Deliver on a wide range of strategic activities, including ad- hoc support of turnarounds and divestitures, strategic projects, and strategy execution
Required Qualifications
2-5 years of consulting, corporate strategy, (or data/business analysis experience)
Demonstrated understanding of key business drivers, strategic frameworks, and strategy development and ability to identify, structure and solve business problems
Strong business acumen and analytical skills with proven ability to apply foundational strategy principles to a variety of business problems
Solid understanding of finance
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, written, and oral communication and presentation skills.
Demonstrated ability to interact with senior leadership internally and externally
Commitment to professional and personal growth
Preferred working locations are offices in Louisville, KY and the Washington D.C. area. May consider Home/Office Hybrid or Remote workstyle for the right candidate in the CST or EST time zones
Preferred Qualifications:
MBA or other graduate-level relevant degree (e.g. Public Health, Finance, Data Science, Data Analytics, etc.)
Healthcare industry experience
Management consulting experience preferred
Familiarity with Lean or similar process improvement methodologies and design thinking principles
