\u003cp style=\u0022text-align: justify;\u0022\u003e\u003cspan style=\u0022text-decoration: none;\u0022\u003eResponsibilities include: Receives, accessions, processes surgical, autopsy and cytology specimens. Handles clerical duties, filing of blocks, changing processors, slide preparation. Utilizes Laboratory Information System for accessioning, report inquiry and other related functions: Performs and assists in the revision and development of specialized histochemical and histopathologic laboratory tests for used by physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of disease. Maintain equipment and quality control according to established polices.\u0026nbsp; Prepares equipment for processing, embedding, cutting, mounting and complex special and/or immunohistochemical staining; label, record and provide slides of tissue to the pathologists for microscopic examination and diagnosis; obtains specimens form operating rooms and record in log book; assist with frozen cryostat sectioning as required. Sets up equipment, instruments and apparatus for specific laboratory procedures. Helps to write, review and recommend changes in laboratory procedures and policies.
