Description

The Senior Nursing Educator plans, directs, coordinates, evaluates, develops, and/or delivers training and education programs for professional nursing personnel. The Senior Nursing Educator work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.

Responsibilities

The Senior Nursing Educator develops educational goals and plans for new associate orientation, ongoing training, and professional development. Training programs may include, but not be limited to, Care Management, Utilization Management, and/or Compliance. RN licensure is required. Begins to influence department's strategy. Makes decisions on moderately complex-to-complex issues regarding technical approach for project components, and work performed without direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments.

Analyze and research policies, processes and procedures in order to develop learning strategies and plans

Implement and deliver training programs using Adult Learning Theory

Observe and consult with frontline associates to meet their needs for the most useful format, method and content of documentation as well as identify gaps.

Update associates on changing processes and support proficiency development

Conduct evaluations to ensure program effectiveness, making modifications as necessary

Maintain functional proficiency in the content areas for which you are delivering instruction

Work on the curriculum teams as a subject matter expert and assist with development of assessments, activities and participant materials

Required Qualifications

Associate's or Bachelor's degree

3 years of clinical experience

Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in the (appropriate state) with no disciplinary action

Knowledge of adult learning theory

Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

Preferred Qualifications

2 years facilitation experience

UM/CM Experience
