Description

The Specialty Operations Pharmacy Technician 2 performs varied activities and moderately complex administrative/operational/customer support assignments. Performs computations. Typically works on semi-routine assignments. Works closely with providers offices to complete authorizations for specialty medications.

Responsibilities

The Specialty Operations Prior Authorization Technician works with Provider's offices to complete Prior Authorization requests for our members. Decisions are typically focused on interpretation of area/department policy and methods for completing assignments. Works within defined parameters to identify work expectations and quality standards, but has some latitude over prioritization/timing, and works under minimal direction. Follows standard policies/practices that allow for some opportunity for interpretation/deviation and/or independent discretion.

Required Qualifications

Must have an active Pharmacy Tech or Tech Trainee Certification with the Ohio state Board of Pharmacy

National Certification: PTCB (CPhT) or ExCPT

Experience as a Pharmacy Technician OR call center experience in a pharmacy or related call center setting

Excellent communication skills

Experience using multiple computer applications simultaneously

Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences

Preferred Qualifications

Mail Order Pharmacy or Retail Pharmacy experience

Experience working with insurance plans and Medicare

Experience submitting and/or reading pharmacy claims

Additional Information

Position Hours: Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm (with an option of a later shift if needed)

Overtime: When there is a business need, overtime will be requested. Potentially voluntary or mandatory.

Holidays: When there is a business need to work on a holiday outside of Thanksgiving day and Christmas Day, there is the possibility of working on a holiday.
