Laundry Operator amp Janitorial / Housekeeping Services FT

JOB SUMMARY

The Laundry Operator will process, inspect and package textile products for Carilion Laundry Services according to established production standards. The Laundry Operator is also expected to support Carilion's hallmarks of service excellence and quality for all job responsibilities.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

*Accurately completes production reporting paper work at end of shift. May use calculator for basic arithmetic. *Maintain tidy work area and appropriately routes missorted textile products to the proper area for further processing. *Monitors the operation of  assigned laundry production equipment and reports any malfunction or  unusual noises immediately to maintenance or their supervisor. *Assist in other areas of the Carilion Laundry as needed according to scheduling and staffing availability. May rotate among tasks throughout shift. *Follow OSHA and JCAHO guidelines regarding the handling of clean and soiled textile products and commercial laundry machinery. Attend inservices as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.   

Other Minimum Qualifications: Must be able to process linen at established standards. Must be comfortable in a work place environment with individuals from different counties and cultures , all of which do not speak English. Must be able to understand non-verbal  communication. (Show & Do)
