Description

Be a part of an interactive team with broad exposure and scope within Humana. Humana is seeking a positive and proactive individual to contribute to a high performing team that helps translate the clinical into financial to ensure Humana profitability.

This individual will work closely with multiple teams throughout the enterprise to maximize Humana's strategic approach to specialty drug therapy optimization and specialty drug focused clinical programs. As specialty drugs continue to drive the pharmaceutical pipeline it is imperative that we continuously innovate and respond to the unique challenges of specialty drugs and unique needs of our specialty membership.

Responsibilities

Drive the development and execution of clinical programs focused on specialty drug therapy optimization.

Oversee and lead the specialty drug clinical program strategy value assessment, forecasting the savings of the strategy and tracking actual experience to projection.

Produce top quality presentations and reports to be shared with senior leadership such as program updates, and market event notifications.

Lead the analysis and generation of insights related to specialty drugs trends to inform future specialty drug strategy.

Continuously monitors relevant publicly available news/developments in the pharmaceutical sector, performing any ad hoc analyses and generating insights, related to specialty clinical program opportunity.

Utilizes broad understanding of managed care, specialty drug trends and clinical program development to drive a continuous pipeline of specialty initiatives.

Collaborate with pharmacists, business professionals and actuaries in a team environment.

Collaborates with Clinical Integration and Implementation team around defining integration strategies for program implementation, such as providing feedback on business requirements.

Maximize use of clinically integrated platforms to drive innovation and specialty program success.

Present confidently to senior leadership on key metrics including specialty clinical strategy and program performance.

Support clinical research integration activities with internal research department.

Work holistically with our operational partners to execute specialty initiatives and continuously improve the process.

Lead multidisciplinary meetings, embracing the keys of Essential Facilitation, to drive to alignment and results.

Champion for enterprise wide specialty drug strategy, working through others to execute on shared goals.

Required Qualifications

Degree of Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD or RPh) from an accredited School of Pharmacy

Active, unrestricted pharmacy licensure

Three years clinical experience in managed care or pharmacy related field

Preferred Qualifications

MBA, pharmacoeconomics or health outcomes training

Six Sigma, Lean (or other quality program) background

Excellent oral and written communication skills, previous experience presenting and interacting with senior leadership

Flexible, dynamic personality with a demonstrated ability to lead and influence others without authority while contributing individually

Previous experience in trend analysis

Previous experience in clinical program development and leadership

Previous experience in clinical integration (e.g. clinical rules engines, EMR)

Working knowledge of MS excel, MS PowerPoint required
