Description
The Strategy Advancement Lead provides data-backed strategic direction to identify and address business issues and opportunities related to the high-needs Medicare Advantage (MA) and Special Needs Plans (SNP) populations that benefit from Humana's Care Management services. This role will focus on opportunities to improve member health outcomes, member and care manager experience, clinical quality, and savings to medical costs. The Strategy Advancement Lead works on diverse and complex problems by bringing their own contributions together with other key stakeholders from across the enterprise and leading the end-to-end process of strategy development for key priorities.

The Humana Care Management Clinical Outcomes team within Humana's Home Solutions organization is focused on improving clinical outcomes and delivering on business priorities for care management programs. Our team employs a rigorous process to set specific priorities, identify discrete opportunities, and develop recommendations and implementation plans for enhanced clinical outcomes, cost control, quality, and member and care manager experience.
In this context, the Strategy Advancement Lead will drive initiatives to analyze complex problems and issues related to care management using data, statistical analysis, and insight from internal and external sources. Brings expertise or identifies subject matter to identify opportunities, interpret data and context, and produce recommendations and plans. Works closely with associates and executive leaders from across the enterprise to solicit input, guide data-backed problem solving, and make recommendations to advance care management strategy. Ultimately, this person will work with operational owners to translate strategic recommendations to implementation-ready plans. This person will exercise independent judgment and decision making on complex issues regarding job duties and related tasks.
The Strategy Advancement Lead role will:
Engage in an ambiguous problem solving and strategy setting
Use data, analytics, and insight from experts to identify the greatest opportunities in clinical outcomes, quality, cost, and experience for members in care management programs
Lead cross-functional teams to define discrete opportunities that are both impactful and achievable
Work directly with cross-functional partners across the enterprise to create the execution model and roadmap to capture prioritized opportunities
Role Essentials
Bachelors degree
7 or more years of experience driving and creating strategy
2 or more years of project leadership experience
Previous experience in strategy consulting, commercial, or business strategy roles
Experience leading cross-functional group of leaders/teams
Strong communication skills both verbal and written, with ability to flex to different audiences
Proven presentation skills (comfortable presenting to all levels of the organization)
Proven skills influencing others and a track record of success working through ambiguity
Ability to conduct, interpret, and leverage data and analytics to improve strategy and make recommendations
Desire to work on on high-priority projects and drive clarity in ambiguous environments
Passion for the mission of improving clinical outcomes for Humana members
Competency with Microsoft Office suite (PowerPoint, Excel)
Willingness to travel 10 -20% once COVID restrictions are lifted in order to meet and collaborate as needed with disperse cross-functional partners

Role Desirables
Advanced degree in a relevant field or MBA
Exposure or experience with clinical care delivery and interventions and/or deep understanding of care management
