Description

The Coding Educator 2 identifies opportunities to improve provider documentation and creates an education plan tailored to each assigned provider. The Coding Educator 2 work assignments are varied and frequently require interpretation and independent determination of the appropriate courses of action.

Responsibilities

The Coding Educator 2 reviews internal data, medical records remotely or onsite and provides educational feedback to providers aimed at quality of care and documentation and coding improvements. Understands department, segment, and organizational strategy and operating objectives, including their linkages to related areas. Makes decisions regarding own work methods, occasionally in ambiguous situations, and requires minimal direction and receives guidance where needed. Follows established guidelines/procedures.

Required Qualifications

AAPC CPC Certification

Strong understanding of ICD-10/HCC coding principles

Comprehensive knowledge of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Problem solve complex issues

Strong attention to detail and exceptional follow up skills

Exceptional interpersonal, public speaking and presentation skills

Guide business and leadership in process improvement

Medical record review knowledge

Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree

HCC coding knowledge

Medical billing and coding experience

Previous experience educating providers

Additional Information

This is a remote/virtual position but once deemed Covid19 Pandemic safe to travel, you may be required to visit onsite with providers in local area of either MO, IA or NE - possible up to 25% of the time.
