Description

The Business Intelligence Lead solves complex business problems and issues using data from internal and external sources to provide insight to decision-makers. The Business Intelligence Lead works on problems of diverse scope and complexity ranging from moderate to substantial.

Responsibilities

The Business Intelligence Lead will be responsible for developing a Medicaid population health data strategy that leverages, integrates with and supplements enterprise wide capabilities . The Business Intelligence Lead will liaise and collaborate with other analytics / reporting teams across Medicaid and the larger enterprise to develop actionable epidemiological, socioecological, and community health data analysis, as well as, neighborhood level hot spotting support to deliver on business needs .

The Business Intelligence Lead describes the tools, technologies, applications and practices used to collect, integrate, analyze, and present an organization's raw data in order to create insightful and actionable business information. Advises executives to develop functional strategies (often segment specific) on matters of significance. Exercises independent judgment and decision making on complex issues regarding job duties and related tasks, and works under minimal supervision, Uses independent judgment requiring analysis of variable factors and determining the best course of action.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and 8 or more years of technical experience in data analysis OR Master's degree and 4 years of technical experience (Epidemiology, Social Epidemiology, Data Science and Business Intelligence)

2 or more years of Project Leadership experience

2 or more years Program Creation experience

Advanced experience working with big and complex data sets within large organizations

Experience analyzing data to solve a wide variety of business problems and create data visualizations that drive strategic direction

Proven ability to work with cross-functional teams and translate requirements between business, project management and technical projects or programs

Proficiency in understanding Healthcare related data

Proficiency in verbal/written communication to senior and executive leadership

Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences

Experience in MS Power BI

Work shift will be in Eastern Time Zone

Must have the ability to provide a high-speed DSL or cable modem for a home office (Satellite and Wireless Internet service is NOT allowed for this role). A minimum standard speed of 10x1 (10mbs download x 1mbs upload) is required.

A dedicated home office space, with a locked door, lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information

Associates working in the state of Arizona must comply with the Tobacco Free Hiring Policy (see details below under Additional Information) and upon offer will be subjected to nicotine testing as part of a 10-panel drug test

Preferred Qualifications

Advanced Degree in a quantitative discipline, such as Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering or related field

Master's Degree in Public Health, Epidemiology Specialty

Advanced in SQL, SAS and other data systems

Experience with tools such as Tableau and Qlik for creating data visualizations

Expertise in data mining, forecasting, simulation, and/or predictive modeling

Experience creating analytics solutions for various healthcare sectors

Background in Public Health - State or Local level
