JOB SUMMARY

Carilion Clinic has upheld long standing Chest Pain Center accreditation with ACC. Cardiovascular Institute is looking for a full time person with experience preferred in cardiology/cardiovascular services to partner with multidisciplinary team to grow our Chest Pain program and focus on process improvement to improve metrics and support our team as leaders in cardiac care.

 

The RN Chest Pain Center Coordinator works in collaboration with the Chief of Cardiology, Quality Medical Director and Chest Pain Center Medical Director to set priorities for the center chest pain center. Chest pain center coordinator will facilitate decision-making, patient assessment, and community resources to organize a multi-disciplinary approach to cardiac care from pre-hospital to discharge. Supports the integration and application of evidence-based practice and critical thinking skills to provide optimal healthcare outcomes.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION: Graduate of School of Professional Nursing. BSN preferred.

EXPERIENCE: Minimum of five years recent cardiology and/or emergency nursing experience with responsibilities reflecting direct patient care.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONS/REGISTRATION: Licensed as registered nurse in Commonwealth of Virginia required. 

OTHER MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Preferred experience as RN in critical care, medical surgical nursing effective communication skills:both orally and written computer skills. Ability to work with others within a team to ensure quality patient care, strong problem solving skills(critical thinking skills).
