PIPBHC- Peer Specialist

Woonsocket, RI

Become an integral part of our Family Wellness Team as a Peer Specialist in our grant funded program titled, “Promoting the Integration of Primary and Behavioral Healthcare (PIPBHC).” This program works with children and their families, adult members of families with children and those who are currently experiencing or at risk for substance use disorder and/or co-morbid physical and mental health conditions.  

The Peer Specialist will help support clients in their recovery from substance use disorders and co-occurring physical and mental health issues using a trauma informed and person centered approach. This candidate acts as a peer mentor in the community, within the multidisciplinary PIPBHC team, helping families to navigate systems, access resources, and connect to natural supports. You will be required to collaborate with other team members along with primary and specialty health providers.

Education/Licensing and Training Requirements:

 High School Diploma or equivalent required.  Experience in the human services or related field preferred. Personal experience with child welfare and/or mental health systems is required. Ability and willingness to work in home and community settings, and ability to transport PIPBHC individuals and family members.
