Profile

The Division of Student Affairs at the University of Cincinnati is seeking to hire a Gender-Based Violence Prevention Program Manager to help support the Assistant Director of the Student Wellness Center. The Gender-Based Violence Prevention Program Manager will assist in planning, designing, evaluating, modifying, and coordinating gender-based violence prevention programs for the UC campus community.

 

Primary Duties

*Develop, implement, and evaluate comprehensive gender-based violence (GBV) prevention and awareness efforts; including consent education, bystander intervention, healthy relationships education, and more. This includes, but is not limited to, presentations, monthly awareness events, workshops and trainings, and more. These awareness efforts may take place on evenings or weekends. *Conduct assessment activities to acquire relevant data about GBV prevalence, attitudes and perceptions about GBV, and the influence of environmental factors that contribute to GBV on campus. *Develop, implement, and evaluate environmental prevention and awareness strategies, including, but not limited to, social norms marketing and creating a culture of respect. *Provide support to other university departments in developing University and/or departmental GBV policies, procedures, and programs. *Utilize best-practices for GBV prevention using ongoing research and benchmarking. *Serve on University and Division of Student Affairs committees that are responsible for shaping policies and programs that address the needs of students, particularly those regarding GBV and related issues. *Write and coordinate grant funding around GBV issues. *Demonstrate cultural competence and inclusiveness in working with populations of diverse cultures and identities in addressing GBV issues. *Build and sustain collaborative working relationships with a wide range of campus and community partners. *Serve as a member of the Student Wellness Center team, helping with projects and office duties as needed. *Design pamphlets, brochures, videos, and other related materials. *Must be able to work occasional week night and weekend hours. *Other relevant duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's degree with three (3) years’ experience; -OR- Associate's degree with five (5) years’ experience; -OR- seven (7) years’ experience.

 

Experience must be in program coordination.

 

Preferred Qualifications

*Master's degree in public health, health education, social work, higher education and student affairs, or a related field. *2 years of related experience working with gender-based violence issues in a collegiate setting. *Experience working with a variety of social media platforms and organizing social media campaigns. *Demonstrated commitment to working with diverse faculty, staff and student from cultures and backgrounds different than your own. *Excellent project management skills; ability and willingness to manage flexible workload, and multiple tasks. *Demonstrated understanding of contemporary best practices and research in violence prevention strategies. *Working knowledge of the Clery Act, Title IX, and the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA). *Experience and commitment to public health and social justice change models. *Ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with discretion and work effectively with students, faculty, and administrative constituencies. *Maintain a current Driver’s License.
