Profile

The University of Montana’s Department of Psychology invites applications for a full-time (9-month) tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin August, 2022. We seek applicants with a PhD in Health Service Psychology from an APA-Accredited training program to serve as a core faculty member in our APA-accredited program in Clinical Psychology. The area of scholarly emphasis for this position is open. Clinical experience and a program of scholarly productivity with relevance to children, youth, and families are strongly preferred.

Responsibilities include contributing to graduate training across our four graduate programs through teaching and research. A typical teaching load is two courses per semester. In addition to standard service expectations the faculty member would mentor undergraduate and graduate students in research and scholarship. They would serve on (and chair) students’ MA and PhD committees. At the graduate level, the new faculty member will teach several courses, many of which serve the Clinical Psychology and School Psychology programs’ accreditation standards.

Specific courses may include the following: Clinical Interviewing; Ethics, Professional & Cultural Issues; Child Interventions and Assessment; Developmental Psychology; and Applied Clinical Methods (‘Practicum’). Clinical training specialization would include an emphasis on child clinical, family therapy, and couple therapy cases. Clinical licensure eligibility and pursuit of licensure in Montana are required.
