Description
The Senior Counselor provides ongoing and crisis intervention focused on the emotional, social, vocational, educational, health-related, developmental, and organizational concerns that impact daily lives. The Senior Counselor work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
Responsibilities
The EAP On-Site Consultant at Humana Inc. provides assessment, referral, and short-term counseling for associates, their family members, and their friends. S/he provides comprehensive professional assessments in the areas of safety, substance abuse, and domestic violence. The Consultant is responsible for managing management referrals, mandatory referrals, and consultations for managers and Human Resources associates. The EAP Consultant provides training for associates and managers that include topics related to stress and resilience, behavior change, and workplace concerns. In addition, the Consultant provides Critical Incident Response (CIR), involving conducting group and 1:1 support sessions following a traumatic incident, such as the death of an associate or a workplace violence incident.
The EAP Consultant understands and adheres to all EAP policies and procedures and documents all case activity. S/he chooses appropriate resources, referrals, and educational materials. The EAP Consultant demonstrates strong customer focus with all users of the service and conducts appropriate follow up. Based on business needs, s/he may be asked to take on special projects, as requested. The EAP Consultant must cultivate relationships across the organization. Lastly, the Consultant must develop an understanding of the workplace culture and the overall strategy and mission of the organization.

Required Qualifications
Master's level degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or other applicable field
CEAP Preferred
Applicable Kentucky State licensure in field of study, licensed for independent clinical practice
5-10 years or more of work experience in applicable field
A customer satisfaction focus
Experience providing management consultation
Experience providing Critical Incident Response (CIR)
Experience developing and delivering trainings in-person and virtually
Excellent verbal, communication, and interpersonal skills
Excellent computer skills and tech ability; ability to use multiple systems simultaneously
Ability to conduct formal and informal presentations for employer-based groups and to appropriately represent EAP at events, such as health and well-being fairs.
