In order to work as a home health aide, you will have to have a high school diploma or G.E.D. You have to at least have this before you're able to be considered for the position. If you have taken classes in anatomy, science, chemistry and biology, that is a plus.
You will need to be sure that this is a position that you want to get into. Do a bit of research - you can call a few home health agencies to see what type of duties you would have to perform if you were to work for them. In this field, you will be assisting elderly and disabled patients within their homes.
Although you don't to obtain a degree to work in this field, you it would definitely help to get your jobs and higher pay. Some even obtain an associate's degree or a certificate in the field. During your training, you will learn all that you have to in order to enter into the field ready to work. You will obtain hands on training, which makes it easier to instill your duties in your mind.
After you get your training out the way, you will need to go after your certification. You can get this through the National Association for Home Care and Hospice.
