Tending to Emotional Needs
In order to be a care giver, you will have to be compassionate and able to offer conversations, friendship and entertainment.
Housekeeping
If the patient is unable to shop or clean the home effectively, the nurse is required to help them. So the care giver will have to do light cleaning, like washing dishes and doing laundry; sometimes even cook meals.
Medical Services
If the patient that is being cared for has medical issues and requires administration of medication or has doctor visits to attend, the care giver will have to ensure that the physical therapy or medical appointments are met accordingly.
Personal Care
Some of the personal care that may be required of the care giver includes bathing, grooming, feeding and dressing the patient.
Education and Training Requirements
In order to work as a care giver, you will have to be a certified nursing aide or some other form of medical professional training. It is usually required that the care giver is certified to conduct CPR.
