Help Clients
Another role of the benefits coordinator is to ensure that clients understand the policies of the benefits and assist them through the enrollment. Clearing up any problems that arise between the clients and insurance agencies is also their job.
Keeping Records
As the health benefits coordinator, you will be responsible for calculating the amount of benefits that employees receive. You will have to verify their records and stay posted on their invoices from insurance agencies. Creating records of the benefits of the employees using software like spreadsheets, is also required. All of the insurance claims are processed by the benefits coordinator.
Research
To better enhance the benefits quality of clients, the coordinator researches the trends within the health benefits industry, assesses the data and draws up a conclusion based on their findings. Coming up with a solution is up to them and management.
Putting Together Activities for Wellness
Being a sponsor for activities that benefit wellness is another area of the coordinator. Their job is to promote preventive care. They may team up with local clinics and hospitals and host seminars that talk about the prevention of heart disease.
Updating Info
Any changes that occur for health benefits must be updated by the coordinator. They will have to make revisions for address and phone number changes regarding the benefit plans, or if a plan has been canceled all together.
