Qualifications
In order to become an office manager for an eye care center, you will have to obtain a high school diploma and have previous experience in the health care field, especially so in optometry. It is also required that you have experience in interacting with people and skills in the administrative office.
Position Responsibilities
As an eye care center office manager, you will have to greet patients regularly, answer telephones, schedule appointments and help patients. You may also have to interact with insurance companies to ensure that the information provided to them about the patients is accurate. Confirming appointments and checking out the patients at the facility is also your duty.
Finance Responsibilities
As an office manager of an eye care center, you will have to deal with finances of the office, such as creating invoices and other payment documents. Handling the payments of the co-payments of patients and optical purchases is another duty.
Directive Responsibilities
Working in an eye care center as an office manager, you will have to give out duties, train and evaluate the new staff members. Advising the staff of policies and rules about the office is also your job.
Administrative Duties
Some of the administrative duties of the office manager is to fax, copy, prepare patient records and make phone calls. Entering data into the system computers of the office is also their responsibility.
