If you will be working as a vascular ultrasound tech, you will be responsible for the cardiovascular system. You will need to have expertise in the pathology and anatomy of the venous and arterial systems.
Cardiovascular Ultrasound Technologist
Then if you decided to become a cardiovascular sonographer, you will be dealing with the diagnosing heart valve defects, birth abnormalities and irregular blood flow patterns, using an ultrasound.
Obstetric Sonographer
With this type of sonography, you will be working with pregnant women. You will have to assess high-risk fetal problems in expecting mothers. You job is to help prevent complex pregnancies. You will check the maternal and fetal health.
Neurosonographer
Last, there is the neurosonographer, which is responsible for capturing images of the brain. In this field, you will be within the operating room while surgeons are removing brain tumors when the need for an ultrasound is required.
