Especially in cases in which only one eve is affected. Surgery before 2 months of age provides the best chance of good vision. After that, the risk of vision loss or degradation is greater.
CONGENITAL CATARACT TREATMENT
Removal of the cataract via surgical extraction of the lens is the most effective menas of treatment for most cataracts. Contact lenses and/or glasses are usually necessary.
